SSL Certificate Checker - How to Verify Your Site Security

17 July, 2026 • 33 views

Use our free SSL checker to verify your TLS certificate is valid, check expiry dates, identify the issuer, and ensure your certificate chain is complete.

An SSL certificate is what makes the padlock icon appear in your browser's address bar. Without it, modern browsers label your site "Not Secure" and visitors leave. But having a certificate isn't enough - it needs to be valid, correctly configured, and not expired.

Our SSL Lookup tool checks all of this for any domain.

What the Checker Tells You

  • Certificate issuer - Who signed the certificate (Let's Encrypt, DigiCert, etc.)
  • Validity period - When it was issued and when it expires
  • Days remaining - How long until you need to renew
  • Subject - The domain it was issued to (check for mismatches)
  • Certificate chain - Whether it connects back to a trusted root authority

Common Problems Found

Expired certificates are the most common issue - browsers show a full-screen warning. Self-signed certificates (common in testing) also get flagged. And sometimes wildcard certificates don't cover all subdomains.

Run the checker weekly on all your domains to catch problems before they affect your visitors.
