Image EXIF Data - What Your Photos Reveal About You

17 July, 2026 • 40 views

Free EXIF reader tool to extract hidden metadata from photos. Learn what data your camera embeds in images including GPS coordinates, camera settings, and device info.

Every photo you take with a smartphone or digital camera contains hidden data called EXIF (Exchangeable Image File Format). This metadata includes camera settings, date and time, and sometimes even GPS coordinates of where the photo was taken.

Our EXIF Reader extracts and displays all this metadata from any image.

What EXIF Data Can Include

  • Camera model - The make and model of the device that took the photo
  • Date and time - When the photo was taken
  • GPS coordinates - Where the photo was taken (if location services were on)
  • Camera settings - Aperture, shutter speed, ISO, focal length, flash
  • Image dimensions - Resolution and aspect ratio
  • Software - What edited the image (Photoshop, Lightroom, etc.)

Privacy Concerns

Posting a photo online with embedded GPS data reveals where you live, work, or vacation. Many social media platforms strip EXIF data automatically, but not all do. Use the EXIF reader to check what data your images contain before sharing them publicly, or strip the metadata first with our Image Optimizer.
