Every photo you take with a smartphone or digital camera contains hidden data called EXIF (Exchangeable Image File Format). This metadata includes camera settings, date and time, and sometimes even GPS coordinates of where the photo was taken.

What EXIF Data Can Include
- Camera model - The make and model of the device that took the photo
- Date and time - When the photo was taken

Privacy Concerns
Posting a photo online with embedded GPS data reveals where you live, work, or vacation. Many social media platforms strip EXIF data automatically, but not all do.
